Updates from 2015.......



Jill took Harris to Dundee Canine Club Limited Show, on Sunday 6th

December, where he was awarded Best Terrier Special puppy by judge

Caitlin Forbes....and then went on to win Best Special Puppy in Show

under judge Edith Wallace. 


At Carluke & District Open show, on Saturday 19th December, Gigha

was 1st and Best of Breed under replacement judge Russell Mosedale.





At Clydebank Open Show, on Sunday 22nd November, Kai was 1st and 

Best of Breed with Gigha standing 2nd in a well supported SCWT Open

Class - whilst Harris was Best Terrier Special Puppy from an equally 

well filled puppy Class......the Terrier judge was Paul Richardson.

Then later in the day, under judge Sally Pointon, Harris was 1st in

AV Puppy Stakes.





At Midland Counties on 25th October, under judge Frank Kane, Harris

was 1st in Minor Puppy Dog and Best Dog Puppy whilst Gigha was

3rd in a large Post Graduate Bitch class.


The Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Club of GB celebrated its 60th

Anniversary in style on 31st October, holding its 35th Championship 

Show, followed by a Gala Dinner, at The Royal Court Hotel in Coventry.

Judge Jeff Luscott had a huge entry of 122 dogs and Harris, Kai and

Gigha all had a great day being placed 2nd Puppy Dog, 3rd Post

Graduate Dog and 1st Post Graduate Bitch respectively.

The True Star of The Day however, has to be Harris's sire Blake

(Denzilly Tickle Me Elmo)  ~ proudly owned by Maureen & Neil Boast

and equally proudly bred by Jo & Graham Dowdy ~ who was 






We had a busy week-end  starting with Darlington Champ Show

on Friday, 18th - Gigha sadly had to be left at home due to being

in season, but Harris was 1st in Minor Puppy Dog and Best Dog Puppy

whilst Kai was 2nd in Post Graduate Dog, under Ronnie Irving.

Then later in the day Harris, handled by Jill, was 4th in Puppy Dog stakes.


The next day it was the S.C.W.T. Club of G.B.'s Open show North

at Durham where judge Neil Straw gave Harris 2nd in Puppy Dog and

1st in Special Beginners Dog whilst Kai was1st in Post graduate Dog.


Harris was out again the following week-end, at Angus & Kincardine

Open Show, when he was Best Special Minor Puppy Terrier and then

1st in AV Novice Stakes, both under judge Mr E. Houston.




Gigha was Best of Breed and Terrier Group 4 at Tayside, Lochee

& District  Open Show on Saturday, 8th August  - gaining the final

points that she required for her ShCM.  The judge was Stephen Wheatley.


 Later in the month, it was a trip down to Builth Wells on Saturday 22nd

for W.K.C. Champ Show where Kai was 3rd in Post Graduate Dog and

Gigha was 2nd in Post Graduate Bitch, under breed specialist Pat

Chadwick (Whitevale).

Then the following day Kai was B.N.S.C. and Terrier Group 2 at 

Lochaber Open Show.


Jill & Paul McFerran's 7 month old Harris (Kirktonhill Cara Dilis) was a

little star at S.K.C. on Sunday, 30th where he won a strong junior class

and was awarded Best Puppy in Breed.

Not to be outdone, Gigha won the Open Class and was then awarded

Best of Breed. The judge was breed specialist, Denise Pascoe (Middlebury).





Saturday 4th July, saw  Kai gain the final points for his ShCM in great

style - being awarded Best of Breed and Terrier Group 1 by judge

Colin Gillanders at Caithness Open show.





Dundee Canine Club held their Summer Open Show on Saturday

6th June at Camperdown Country Park - where even galeforce winds

couldn't detract from this spectacular venue. Gigha was Best Of Breed

and 2nd in AV Terrier Open under judge George Earle.





Jennifer and Kai  made the long journey down to Perthshire

Canine Club Open Show on 2nd May and were rewarded with

Best of Breed and Terrier group 2 under judge Miss J Clarke.


The following week-end got off to a excellent start with Gigha

getting BNSC Terrier and Terrier Group 3 at Kirkcaldy & District

Open Show, on Saturday 9th May under judge Miss S. Rossiter. 

Then,  on Sunday 10th we travelled up to the Black Isle Showground 

for Ross & Cromarty Open Show where Gigha was Best of Breed

and Terrier Group 3 under judge Claire Boggia. The same judge also

awarded Kai 1st AV Terrier Graduate and Gigha 1st AV Terrier Open

and 1st AV Bred by Exhibitor.


At Livingston Canine Society Limited Show on Saturday 30th May

Gigha was BNSC Terrier and Terrier Group 1 under judge Fiona







Gigha and myself went along to East of Scotland Open Show on

Sunday 1st, for a little last minute practice before Crufts.

There was no breed class scheduled but Gigha was BNSC Terrier

and Terrier Group 3 under judge Mrs Carole Wood.


Jennifer and Kai were the stars the following week when they had a

fantastic Crufts debut, with Kai being placed 1st in Yearling Dog

under breed specialist Robert Ross ( Keridown). 


We had a full diary over the week-end of 14th/15th March - starting

with Clydebank & District Open Show at lanark on the Saturday,

where Gigha was awarded Best of Breed by judge Euan Castel.

Then on Sunday, Tali, Gigha and myself met up with some of their

canine family and friends to take part in a Worldwide Wheaten Walk

to celebrate the SCWT Club of GB's 60th Anniversary.






We had a busy week-end, starting with an outing to Arbroath on

Saturday 21st, for Tayside, Lochee & District Limit Show where

Gigha was Best of Breed under terrier judge John Mcconachie and

then 1st Bred by Exhibitor under Linda Offen.


The following day, we had a breed class at Catrine Open Show so

off to Lanark we headed. Liz Stannard was judging terriers and gave

Gigha Best of Breed and then shortlisted her in the group......it had

been a tiring week-end so we didn't wait for the Stakes Class here!





The 2015 showing season got off to a good start for Gigha with a trip

up to Thainstone for Bon Accord Open show on Saturday 3rd January,

where the terrier judge Mr Jim McGhie awarded her Best of Breed and

Group 4. She was also 1st in AV Terrier Open under the same judge.

Then the  following day, at Paisley open show, Gigha was 2nd in AV

Terrier N.S.C. Open under Mr Paul Eardley.


At St. Andrews, Cupar & District on Saturday 10th January, where 

terriers were judged by Mrs S. Fortune, Gigha was Best of Breed 

and Group 2


The month ended with Gigha getting Best of Breed at Caledonian

Show on Saturday 31st January and 1st in  A.V. Terrier Open.

The judge for both classes was Mark Walshaw.
