Kirktonhill Antics In 2013.......


On 21st December, the day after Gigha was 6 months old, she won the AV Terrier Minor Puppy Class and was Best Terrier Puppy at Carluke and District Open Show - the judge was Ian McShane.

At the same show Brora won AV Open Bitch Stakes under judge Gail Marshall.




Gigha (K. What I Believe) made her competitive debut at Maxwelltown Ringcraft Club Annual Match where, at 4 1/2 months of age,  she was awarded Best Puppy in Match by judge Fiona McHardy.



Meanwhile, Maisie  has passed her initial assessment and so, along with owner Janette, is looking forward to becoming a Pets As Therapy Dog like her sister Daisy (K. Don't Look Now) - who is proudly owned by Mattie Ferguson.



After a few months absence from the showring we headed down to Stoneleigh for The Club Champ Show where, under judge Stuart Plane,

Brora was 1st in both Mid-Limit Bitch and Special Beginners Stakes whilst Tali was 1st in The Open Stakes Class and VHC in Veteran Bitch.



Jill & I made the long journey down to Birmingham with Brora, for Crufts at the beginning of March. On Thursday, Breed specialist Angela Switzer (Starcadia) was judging the entry of 114 Wheatens and Brora was placed 3rd in Post Graduate - then on Friday, it was back to the NEC to help out on the Discover Dogs stand.





The first weekend in February saw Jill getting Best of Breed with Brora at Caledonian Show under judge Mr Moray Armstrong.

On 16th Feb, Mr George Tullis was judging Terriers at Tayside, Lochee & District Show where he awarded Brora Best of Breed and TerrierGroup 1  then later in the day she won the AV Not Bred By Exhibitor class under judge Mr Gary Southgate - so a very successful day for Jill and Brora.



Maisie (K. Come What May) started off the year by getting Best of Breed at Bon Accord Show on 5th January - the judge was Mrs Moira Barrass.

 The following week, it was Brora's (K. Look No Further) turn to shine with Best of Breed and Group 3 under judge Mrs M. Brown at Cupar, St. Andrews & District Show.

 Later in the month Janette & Maisie headed off down to Manchester Show where Maisie was 2nd in Post Graduate Bitch - the judge was Mr Colin Powell.

Also in January, two of "The Boys" Cosmo (K. Dare To Win) who is seen being chased by his big sister Sonny (K. From A Distance) and Cuig (K.Whatever Next) enjoyed their first experience of snow............whilst brother Mac (K. No Regrets) was enjoying a little winter sun in Portugal over Christmas and New Year.
